There’s a pathway for everyone with the confidence to embark on an Expansion of Hope! For our friends in Grades 4-6, we offer “Hope: The New Frontier,” an extension of the “Horizons of Hope!” Module where students venture into the uncharted territory of their skills and strengths when exercising hope, goal-setting, and marking their pathways. However, for our friends in Grades 6-8, we offer another chance to grow in “Hope: Blooming For the Future,” where students will intentionally increase their hope through goal setting and designing how those goals can be achieved. Module activities can be completed at the teacher’s discretion. See module “Horizons of Hope!” for the introductory content! Time Required: 30-45 minutes.

It begins with a recap of empathy concepts, followed by a video explaining its three main components: Thinking Empathy (understanding others’ experiences), Feeling Empathy (emotionally connecting with others), and Helping Empathy (taking compassionate action). The key activity, “Walk in Their Shoes,” has students role-play different real-life scenarios (e.g., a new student feeling left out at recess) and discuss empathetic responses in small groups. The module emphasizes listening carefully, understanding others’ emotions, and responding in ways that show kindness and support. Time Required: 35 minutes.
Objectives:
Enrich the moment with your students in “Savoring: Enjoying Your Moments.” Students of all ages will learn to appreciate their past—and future—experiences to enhance their lives.
