Though we know that collaboration can be a sticky situation, this module encourages students to learn about the benefits of collaborating with and depending on others. When it comes to adapting to new challenges, communicating with others, and being accountable for their roles in achieving group goals—students will become masters of collaboration and dependence: together! Objectives:
A follow-up lesson to Developing Self-Confidence: This lesson on “Maintaining Self-Confidence” teaches students how to preserve and strengthen their self-confidence over time. Key strategies for maintaining confidence include thinking positively, practicing self-care, accepting mistakes, and avoiding negative self-talk. The lesson also explores how setbacks, bullying, and unrealistic expectations can harm confidence. A competitive element is included to engage students, with the group or individual providing the most well-reasoned answers declared the winner. Enrich the moment with your students in “Savoring: Enjoying Your Moments.” Students of all ages will learn to appreciate their past—and future—experiences to enhance their lives. Whether they choose to marvel, luxuriate, feel thankful, bask in, or be mindful of them, ALL students can benefit from practicing appreciation for the things that have happened and those that will come. This lesson empowers students to view challenges as learning experiences and approach difficulties with a more positive and flexible mindset. Time Required: 35-40 minutes.
